Day 37 - Narnia, another new ct and layouts

I have been reading Prince Caspian by C.S. Lewis to Christian. We only have two chapter to go. I wanted to get a picture of the book or something to remember it with. Yesturday Alana McCarthy from Scrapbookgraphics asked me to join her team and sent me a link to her kit she is releasing next week. I will give one hint, it ties in well with this book, so I got a couple of pictures of Chritian with the book to use with the layout. Stay tuned and you can see how the book the pictures and the new kit come together.
I did a couple of layouts with photos from our outing yesturday.

We went to feed the ducks this morning. Here is a photo of the boys and I on sitting together on a tree stump.

Day 35 - Seeds and January Layouts

I made butternut squash soup yesturday. I pulled the seeds out, washed them and I am drying them. We are going to start a gardening unit for homeschooling soon. I have a couple books ready at the library. We are going to plant most of our seeds at a friends house and they are going to take care of the seeds until they are ready to transplant to the ground. I thought we could have a couple plants here that they boys could water and watch the plants grow (hopefully)
Here are a couple layouts I did. This first one is my January month in review layout.

They have a fun challenge at Penny's Miscellany which is the team blog for Penny Springman(blog link in my list on the right). They provide a calendar topper template every month and then you can make the page at that time and then at year end you have everything ready to print calendars. This is my January Page.

Day 34 - workout clothes, a mess, 6 things about me and a two page layout

It is getting light earlier in the morning, so I can resume my running first thing in the morning. It is hard to get up and get going, so I like to put my workout clothes out and have them ready to go, so I have less excuses to stay in bed. Liam might need a couple of days to get used to the revised schedule. He was quite upset while I got ready and went out. I was pretty stiff from ballet yesturday, so I had to run part of the time and walk the rest.
Yesturday I made some chocolate pudding from scratch. I put it in the refridgerator to chill. They boys ate all the dinner so I went to the refridgerator to get it out. The boys were standing in the kitchen, spoons in hand ready to eat. The dish slipped from my hand and chocolate pudding flew everywwhere. The dish did not break and there was a huge mess to clean up. I just told the boys to dig in and eat some of the pudding off the floor. After they ate a bit, I cleaned up most of it. There are still bits of chocolate around the kitchen.

I was tagged by Erika to share 6 boring things about myself...
1. I am a clutz, look at the photos above if you do not beleive me.
2. I almost always have fleece on in the winter.
3. I drink a lot of coffee
4. I have 70 items checked out from the library right now.
5. I am watching season 7 of West Wing right now
6. I made butternut squash soup and potoato bread for lunch today

I am going to choose to do a freewill tag. If you feel so inclined, share six things on your blog and leave me a comment and I will stop by for a visit.

Here is a two page layout I did last night

Day 33 - Bulking it up with cabbage

I bought a roasted chicken from Costco on Friday. I used most of the meat from the chicken to make a chicken salad from the cookbook How to Cook Supper. The recipe makes a ton of this salad which tastes good and is great to have in the fridge to grab out and gnaw on when we need a little snack. When I buy a roasted chicken, I take the skin and bones and put them in the crock pot, cover it with water and cook it overnight for broth. This process also gets more meat off the chicken. It is only about a cup, but it is more meat none the less. Today I grabbed that meat out and put it back in the crock pot and covered it with a teriyaki sauce I bought from Trader Joes. I cooked it on low while I went to ballet. When I got home, David started some rice in the rice cooker then I chopped up some onions, carrots, cabbage, ginger and garlic. I sauted the onions in a bit of peanut oil then added ginger and garlic for a minute or two. I then added carrots and after a few minutes, cabbage. After the cabbage was cooked a bit I added the chicken and sauce from the crock pot and served it over rice. It was too yummy.
Here are two layouts I did this weekend

Day 32 - Dim Sum and chickens

We met up with a couple of friend and went to Dim Sum at a Chinese Restuarant in our area for lunch today. The boys just love the noodles. I took this picture of Liam eating his.
When we got home we went out and worked in the yard. I gathered pine branches and needles from the driveway and front yard to add to the hen house and shoveled out the chicken droppings from inside. The chickens got a chance to go free in the yard for a while.

Here is a layout I did yesturday
