I bought this little Nativity Scene at The Dollar Tree several years ago. In our family, we don't wrap and place presents under the tree until Christmas Eve after the kids go to bed. We do this for two reasons. The first is practical. Little hands can really shake up or even open presents before Christmas morning and it removes the tempation by not even having the presents there. The other reason is that Jesus and his gift of salvation is the tree purpose of Christmas, so we keep the little Nativity Scene under the tree to remember this.

I love having a nativity set for my kids to play with. It helps to keep them focused on the meaning of Christmas, though that can still be a challenge!
