Project 365 - Day 8...Gyoza

We made gyoza (potstickers) this morning. The majority of them will be served at our small group tonight. We did make a few for the family and we have leftover filling to make more tommorow or Saturday when the wrappers defrost.
I used tofu instead of ground meat for the filling. The boys helped me with them and I did not want them handling raw meat.

I have often made gyoza by frying them peanut oil then adding water. I am going to just fry them tonight.

We serve our gyoza with a sauce of Soy Sauce, sesame oil and chopped ginger. You can add a dash of chili oil if you want more zing.

I eat my gyoza with chopsticks so of course the boys have to as well.

I got the recipe for this in Mark Bittman's How To Cook Everything. This is the best cook book ever! If you buy one cookbook this year, make it this one.

Looks interesting (in a good way!)

Are those the same Ikea plates as I have in my kitchen?!

Sounds yummy! Wish I could come. I might have to steal the sauce recipe for the Costco egg rolls that we like.
